Pharmaqam
This research center based at UQAM joins over 50 researchers from 17 different institutions with common interests in biopharmaceutical research. Our main goal is to consolidate academic expertises relevant to drug discovery. These include the discovery of new bioactive molecules, the identification of new biological targets combined with tools to gain better understanding of the mechanism of action of these new compounds. The center focuses on the molecular aspects of biopharmaceutical research and brings together complementary cutting-edge research essential for efficient drug discovery.
Mission
Pharmaqam’s mission is to develop innovative approaches to streamline early stage drug discovery for cancer, viral and bacterial infections along with orphan and degenerative diseases.
